Lisa wants a low-ish ABV sweet stout. Will probably add coffee and vanilla or maple or something. Brewed 1/24/21 Didn't have (many) Oats so had to sub in extra grains on hand, eg lots of Munich and the Carapils. Mashed at 157 for 90 mins. Big sparge for 45 mins to hit an 8 gal pre boil volume. Thought the gravity was low so I boiled it down and under-shot volume and over-shot the gravity big time. Target was 1090s but got all the way up to 1.111. Made a 1.2L of Imperial House. Started ...

What Styles Are These Recipes?
It's not uncommon for a homebrewer to craft a homebrew recipe that does not satisfy the specific guidelines of the BJCP style guidelines. For example, a homebrewer might make an IPA recipe and decide they want it to be more bitter or darker than the defined style.
